Marriage Wisdom & “Date Night” with Ted Cunningham

We watched a video on marriage in our Sunday School class several months ago. It was a Song of Solomon series led by Ted Cunningham, & we really enjoyed it. Here are a few of the notes I found in one of my journals. You can also probably find the sermons online. (I did find this one video on Youtube. It’s a great one!)

1. Don’t react to your mate. Instead, respond to God.

2. Let God do the chastening. We’re never going to change our mate, but God can.

3. Resolution does NOT mean weakness. In fact, it’s strength.

4. Communication is KEY. Conflict is meant to change us.

5. Marriage is REFINING.

6. If you always have to win, you’re going to make someone miserable. Which sounds better to you?

7. If you have been offended, FORGIVE.

If you live anywhere near the Atlanta area, NorthPoint is hosting a “Married Life” Date Night. We may try to go if I am not in labor!

Ted will be speaking live at North Point Community Church and will be simulcast to Browns Bridge Church.

Hi Danielle,

Looking for some spiritual wisdom. Do you have a daily inspirational book you like? I have Jesus Calling but looking for something else.
