I’m 34 weeks and 4 days today (1/6).
Growth: Baby Beau had a growth spurt. (I can totally feel it!) He is weighing somewhere around 5 lbs and about 18 inches long. Little sweetheart is getting those final touches of development. I am praying he will keep cooking right up till his due date.
Weight/Baby Bump: Bump is feeling large & in charge! It is definitely a torpedo, but I am wider and carrying a little lower than I was with Kade. I’m up about 27 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.
Sleep: It was a little bit of a rough week in the sleep department. Jase randomly woke up in the middle of the night one night with a rash, so I gave him some Benadryl and a bath (it went away) and slept in the bed with him for a couple hours to keep an eye on him. (I’ve only given him Benadryl one other time ever so just wanted to make sure he didn’t react.) A couple other nights Kade woke up because he is cutting two teeth (one is a molar- come on baby, BREAK on through!) & needed some TLC from Mama. He was totally fine all during the day, so it’s only at night. Maybe it’s God’s way of preparing me for a newborn again? Ha! We’ve had well over a year of these boys sleeping through the night really well, so I kind of forgot what it’s like to wake up in the middle of the night. Whew!
Movement: Some of the movement takes my breath away. I can’t tell how he’s positioned exactly, but there is something pushing hard out of the right side (like a foot or elbow or knee). His booty, head, or back (ha!) is on the left side and pushing out sometimes. When I laid back to get measured at my appointment today, he moved all the way to the left side & was poking out BIG time on the left side of my belly button (to the point that she could barely get a measurement). He finally moved back and is measuring right on track. Funny little guy!
Appointments: I had an appointment today. Blood pressure was 110/67. Baby Beau’s heart rates was in the 150s. After my next appointment in a week and a half I’ll start going weekly.
I’ve also been going to the chiropractor once a week and it has helped SO much with my pelvic pain (lower left back specifically). He said he can feel that my tail bone is a little bit shifted/twisted and it’s causing my saccrum to shift. The adjustments have made a huge difference. Even with the pregnancy pillow they have, it is really uncomfortable to be on my belly.
I would love to get a prenatal massage, a pedicure, and get my hair done before baby comes. I’ve been trying to hold off and wait till we’re closer so I only have to do it once, but my roots are starting to look ROUGH.
Work Outs: I ran into my very first yoga teacher the other day at healthy living seminar. She is AH-MAZ-ING & I found out she is still teaching locally, so I am hoping to start making it to her class once a week. I can’t really take any of the classes at our new gym. REALLY missing Les Mills classes.
When I’m very active, I have a ton of Braxton Hicks. (I also have more when I have a full bladder.)
I’ve been cleaning the house a TON & playing with the boys a lot, so I’ve been counting that too.
Best Pregnancy Moment This Week: Well, it was definitely NOT the older gentleman at Costco who said “WHOA! You’ve gotta be close, right?” when I walked out of the aisle. Hahah!
Goals: Start thinking about goody bags for nurses & staff. Dig some newborn stuff out of storage. Drink plenty of water every day.
Thoughts: I had a total mindset shift this week and I cannot believe the difference it made. (Well, actually I can.) The mind is a POWERFUL thing!! I stopped talking about feeling tired, and started answering with something really positive anytime anyone asks how I feel. And guess what? I feel AMAZING and have a ton more energy. Seriously.
My sister in law is due the day after me, so it has been really fun talking all things baby with her!
Comparison: I have no idea what I did with my pics on my week 34 blog posts, but they aren’t showing up so I can compare. Boo! I did find this one on IG though. I actually wore that same scarf today.
