Father's Day

We took my dad out to eat at his FAVORITE restaurant (besides Golden Corral of course- ha!) for Father's Day this year. Big Jon & I bought him a ribeye from Texas Roadhouse. We definitely enjoyed the company.  We miss Mom & Dad & getting to see them and talk to them every day, so we always enjoy our visits.

I do have a funny story from dinner. Every few months I let my true blond shine through and do something incredibly airheaded. I went to the restroom after we finished dinner- we were all just sitting around chatting and waiting on the check.  When I was walking back to the table from the restroom, I walked down the wrong aisle. I looked for our table but didn't see my parents or Jonathan. I didn't realize it was the wrong aisle at the time (they all look the same!), so I assumed they must have walked outside.  I went outside of the restaurant, looked all around, but still didn't see them, so I walked around the back of the building to the cars. I started to get a little panicked when I didn't see them, so I thought "Maybe they're playing a joke on me?" Then is occurred to me that I might have walked down the wrong aisle.  I went back into the restaurant and found them sitting exactly where I left them! Ha!!

What Makes a Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

My dad is truly one of the most giving, generous, and compassionate men I know. He has a heart of gold, loves deeply, & helps others any time he can. He supports and provides for his family endlessly. He is one of the hardest working men I know, yet it still gentle, kind, and understanding.  Everyone who knows him or meets him loves him. He has always been my biggest fan, encourager, and supporter.  He tells me he loves me, hugs me, and taught me to work hard.

Love you, Daddy!
