Halloween 2017

I just realized today I never posted about our last Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, or Easter…and since this is my only form of a family scrapbook, I decided I should go ahead and blog about them (even if it is 6 months later).

Halloween is definitely not one of my favorite holidays. Every year I wait till the last minute to try to throw together some costumes and go back and forth deciding whether or not we want to go trick or treating.

We ended up reusing old costumes, and both of our families came to our house to celebrate this year since our neighborhood does it up pretty big. The boys had a great time walking around with their cousins and aunts, and Jonathan and I had a great time rummaging through all their candy for the next few weeks. ;)

Kade was the cutest little dino, and thankfully Jase could still fit in his Spiderman costume from last year. Baby Beau was supposed to wear the pumpkin costume all the boys have worn (that my friend Adrienne let me borrow and I have continued to use as we keep having boys)…but I could only find the feet. #storagelifestinks

Most of the fellas stayed at our house to hand out candy while us gals walked around the hood with the kiddos. I do love seeing friends and neighbors & some of the creative costumes, and I LOVE any chance we get to spend with the whole fam! (It was especially great seeing my sis-in-law & niece who I hadn’t seen in awhile.) I think next year we may try to start a new tradition and just go to the movies or bowling or something instead though. We’ll see what Jon says. I know I can be a little bit extreme, so he is always a voice of reason.

Halloween is also my brother’s birthday, so it’s always a bittersweet day remembering and missing him. (Of course we miss him every day, but special events, holidays, and birthdays are a little tougher.)

Grateful for the memories with family.
