Human Trafficking & Crisis Rescue International

I believe that the disgusting reality of human trafficking is finally receiving more awareness and attention in our country. It is happening right here in our back yards. Atlanta is known as the number one hub of human trafficking and child sex exploitation in the United States.  It makes me SICK to my stomach to even think about, but it is real and deserves our attention & prayer.

“Trafficking of persons is the second largest illegal trade after arms sale. In 1997 according to U.N calculations, the procurers, smugglers, and corrupt public officials involved in the international trade in human beings, extracted $ 7 billion in profits from their cargo. There are no accurate statistics of how many people are involved, but it is estimated that in the last 30 years, trafficking in women and children in Asia for sexual exploitation alone has victimized over 30 million people. Everyday about 200 girls and women in India enter prostitution and 80% of them against their will. At the current rate of growth by 2025 one out of every five Indian girl children will be a child prostitute. Every hour, four girls in India enter prostitution, three of them against their will.”

I wanted to post this because I wanted to call all of you to PRAY with me for this darkness to continue to be brought to light, and to pray for the warriors who in the trenches fighting the battle against trafficking. I also wanted to show you some specific ways you can help. If you’re like me, you might feel a heavy burden, but not know what you can do other than pray (which is huge!). I wanted to put this out there because this is a ministry I believe in.

“Crisis Rescue International exists to love, rescue, and heal children who have been rescued from trafficking and sexual exploitation. By creating a safe and loving environment, they are enabled to grow and develop physically, mentally, and spiritually. Our work provides basic education and vocational training for each girl and woman who come through our centers; ultimately, allowing them to integrate into their communities in a positive and constructive manner.”

Some friends of ours started this ministry. We have had the opportunity to get to know them better, and they have such a heart for it. Every penny donated goes straight to helping the ministry.

Please take a minute to check out their site & read about some of the ways you can Get Involved if you feel led. It may be through hosting an event, donating, sponsoring a child, committing to pray, or one of the other ideas they have listed. I know you guys may have some ideas to share with them, you may be able to (or know someone who can) support financially, and will be willing to pray for this team, this ministry, and this mission.

Please join me & intercede for these children with our prayer and support…
