What’s Your Personality Type? I’m an ESFP!

Personality quizzes are so interesting to me, and they are usually pretty accurate from my experience.

There was a link-up today that included a personality quiz, so I decided it was worth a few minutes to see if I could learn a little something about myself.

You can take the quiz HERE. (It’s short, but takes some thought to answer a few of the questions.)

Self-awareness is such a crucial aspect of personal growth.  Personal growth has become a big part of my life, because if you’re not growing, you’re either staying the same or moving backwards….and neither of the latter are alternatives for which I will settle. I want to be the best possible version of myself.

Knowing my strengths and weaknesses has helped me tremendously in business & in life in general. I am personally one for focusing on STRENGTHS and using those to your advantage rather than trying to improve weaknesses. (Not all the time, of course, because there are lots of areas I have to work on & strive to improve. I’m just saying as a general rule of thumb…) I think it’s also important to seek to find the strengths of others and appreciate those rather than dwell on their weaknesses (particularly in marriage), and doing this absolutely strengthens and improves relationships.

SO….my results??

I’m an ESFP.

Extravert(89%)  Sensing(75%)  Feeling(62%)  Perceiving(22)%

  • You have strong preference of Extraversion over Introversion (89%)
  • You have distinctive preference of Sensing over Intuition (75%)
  • You have distinctive preference of Feeling over Thinking (62%)
  • You have slight preference of Perceiving over Judging (22%)

I googled it, and this description of an ESFP nailed my personality for the most part.

Here is the overview: I LOVE people!! I care about people & tend to be sympathetic. I genuinely like most people. I don’t like planning. (Actually, I REALLY dislike planning!) As a result, I sometimes avoid looking at long-term consequences of my actions. I learn better by doing than reading. I don’t like analyzing or problem solving- I’d rather just “get over it" or make a decision and hope for the best. I enjoy decorating & tend to put things together in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. I can be creative & artsy, as long as it doesn’t involve taking time to “figure things out.”  I love being a part of a team. I am optimistic, thrive off positivity, and do not respond well to negativity. I am fast-paced & do not like slowing down to think things through or figure out a solution. As a result, I get a lot done, but sometimes not the most efficiently. (I am NOT one for adventure though…I tend to be a scaredy cat, so that part is not so much like me.)

And a few more spot on traits (from here):  “ESFP personalities are very observant, able to notice and respond to someone’s distressed emotional state. As planning and long-term thinking are often their weakest personality traits, ESFPs may be inferior advisors and planners, but they are very well equipped to provide practical advice and emotional support.

The main weakness for many ESFPs is their lack of rationality, which can lead to superficiality and forgetfulness, with more emphasis on quick satisfaction, but not their obligations and duties. ESFPs are also likely to do their best to ignore potential conflicts instead of dealing with them head-on.

It is likely that the ESFP personality will be very practical, but not when it comes to repetitive or analytical tasks. They would rather rely on their luck or ask other people for help than spend time trying to understand a complex theory.”

What are your results? Does the description fit you?? Link up & share!

Wow, I'm in INFJ. When I took a similar test six years ago, while in high school, I was an ENFJ. Odd how I became in introvert later in life.
