Jase’s Seventh Week!!

June 20-27

Weight: Big man is rockin’ it out between 12-13 lbs! Mama is finally back in her normal clothes (for the most part)…yipee!

Health: Baby acne and cradle cap are almost gone! Our sweet little man gets more and more handsome every day. I can’t tell who he looks like and everyone says something different, so I guess we’ll see as he gets bigger. His hair is starting to grow back in on top- I think we’re going to have a little blondie!

Are these seriously not THE CUTEST pictures you’ve ever seen?? I can’t even take it….ahhh!!! He thinks he’s so cool with his shades & giant hands! Ha!!

Everything is going really well…he is healthy, happy, and growing! He rarely fusses or cries. Just busy stealing hearts & takin names…

Sleep: We had a couple of rough nights this week where little man was waking up twice during the night….around 1:30, again around 4, then I had to wake him up to start our day at 7. I was EXHAUSTED those days!! We’re working on it…

Nursing: Nursing is going great. The toughest part is that it takes a LOT of planning when going anywhere because you have to pump, make sure you have somewhere to warm it up, make sure you’re not going too long between pumping sessions, etc. We stay home a lot because it’s just so much easier and better for him to sleep here. I have to rush like crazy when I do take him out to run errands, and I still haven’t quite mastered it. I’m pretty awkward!! (People were so much more helpful when I was pregnant- NOW is when I really need the help!!) I’m making sure to eat plenty of lean protein, veggies, fruits, complex carbs, raw nuts, and oatmeal, & I drink tons of water to keep my milk supply up. I know nutrition is so important for both me and him.

I’m also still taking my vitamins. Here’s what’s in my Advo pantry: Coreplex with Iron, Omegaplex, Probiotic Restore Ultra, Calcium Plus, Meal Replacement Shakes (I’m on a vanilla kick & drink one every day- love that I’m getting so much nutrition and protein…sometimes it’s tough to find time to eat and this is an awesome option), Rehydrate, Catalyst, 1/2 Spark a day if needed, Post-Workout Recovery (after workouts), Muscle Gain

What Jase is up to: He is such a happy baby. So content and just has the best disposition. He has started smiling like CRAZY when I change his diaper- it’s hilarious! I always ask him if he thinks it’s funny that mommy has to wipe his lil booty, & we always sing songs when I’m changing him.

His smile MELTS.MY.HEART. True story.

So much cooing & smiling going on.

His schedule is going pretty well this week. I tried merging him to a 3 1/2 hour schedule during week 6, but he wasn’t ready yet, so we are still doing 3 hours. We are typically around 7, 10, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, 8:30, and a dream feed at 10:30 (bedtime).

J$ loves bath time with Daddy!

Jase went to his first Advocare mixer on June 24th & was such a sweet baby. Meleisa fed him a pumped bottle and he was an angel baby.

He also had his first few hours away from us. Mama kept him at her house for a few hours on Friday night so we could head to Atlanta for a leadership dinner. I missed him like CRAZY and coulnd’t WAIT to get home to him. I wasn’t nervous at all….just missed him. She actually came over to get him earlier in the day, but I couldn’t let her take him because that would be 6 hours away from me. We had him all strapped in his car seat two different times ready to go with her, but I busted out in tears and couldn’t handle it, so she just came back over to pick him up a little closer to time for us to leave. We had a great time with some awesome friends at the leadership dinner.

We also had a busy day Saturday…he went to his first Advocare training in Gwinnett (which was AWESOME- got to hear the author of “Top 10 Distinctions Between Millionaires and Middle Class” speak & he was phenomenal!) and did great. He stayed right on his schedule, but that meant I had to find a back hallway to nurse him. I was sweating like crazy & he peed right through his diaper onto my dress. Fun times! (Hoping no one who hugged me afterwards is reading this…)

We also went to Dustin & Amie’s baby shower to celebrate baby DJ!

I rode in the back seat with him on the way home, & he seriously stared at me the WHOLE WAY home. It was crackin’ me up….felt like we were having a staring contest and he was straight crushin’ me. LOVED it!

Visitors: Grammy, Mimi & Papa, Brian, Laura & Braylon

PostPartum: I had my doctor’s appointment (6 week post-partum checkup) & was released to work out, so I hit the gym for the first time on June 23rd. Mom watched Baby Jase so me & Big Jon & I could make out first gym appearance together. It felt SO GOOD to be back!! Whew- I’m outta shape!

Baby Gear: Pampers Size 1 Swaddlers, Woombie (Big Baby), Aveeno bath products, onsies, activity mat, bouncy seat, Angel Care monitor, Medela storage bags & bottles, breast pads, books

Thoughts: I fall more and more in love with him every single day!! I love that he is getting a little personality. I have a feeling he’s going to be a funny lil guy…he already has a sense of humor and laughs coos/smiles at some of my jokes. (At least somebody thinks I’m funny!) I thank God every day that He chose ME to be Jase’s mommy, and it makes me feel even closer to Jonathan knowing we made this little guy together….he is a part of both of us. It is such a big responsibility when God chooses you to be a parent, and weare extremely grateful to have the opportunity and take that role very seriously.
