Baby Butler is 31 Weeks!!

I am officially 8 MONTHS today!!! Woo hoo!!! I cannot BELIEVE how quickly this last trimester is flying by!
Baby Growth: Baby Jase is the size of four naval oranges! A little random, but also very fitting as this has been the one food I have eaten EVERY.SINGLE.DAY since I found out I was pregnant!!

31-oranges[1]

My Symptoms: I still feel pretty good. For 8 months, I definitely can’t complain! I am starting to get a little more tired and have had a couple little nauseas spells here and there, but for the most part I feel pretty good.

Weight/Belly: My belly is starting to widen out some. It has been all in front for most of my pregnancy, but now it seems to be spreading out. I also think it may be starting to drop just a little?? I have a doctor’s appointment today so I’ll see how much I’ve gained in the last 2 weeks. It’s supposed to be around a pound a week from here on out and go straight to the baby.  Still no stretch marks.

People comment a LOT about how big my belly is! I am pretty sure it’s how Jase is positioned because I can feel that he is pressing out big time in the dead center of my belly. (Maybe his back or booty? It’s something big…) This would also affect the fundal height and might be why I’m measuring ahead.

Maternity Clothes: I splurged!! Bought that $12 striped shirt/dress thingfrom Marshall’s. (I think it’s supposed to be a dress, but is definitely a shirt on me….NOBODY would want to see me rockin’ that as a dress! Haha!)

Other than that I’ve been wearing my same few pairs of maternity pants, yoga pants, & longer sweaters, shirts, & tanks.

I am SO ready for warm weather so I can wear dresses, sandals, & get a TAN!!! (So ready to use that spray tan machine again!!)

Movement: The movement has definitely changed and I can tell big boy is running out of room in there. It has gone from punches and jabs to lots of rolling around. Like big rolls all over my belly.  However he is positioned, he is definitely pressing out in the center of my belly (I can feel him pushing out on my belly button too). I can also feel elbows and knees poking out random places sometimes. A few times he has moved so intense that it feels a little uncomfortable, but I love, LOVE, LOVE all the sweet movement! It’s such a precious reminder of the little miracle the Lord is allowing me to help Him create. I try to talk to Jase a lot too when he’s awake…& I pray out loud on the way to school so Jase can hear me praying for him & his daddy.

Sleep: I have been staying up way too late. Sunday night I got sucked into this week’s episode of the Bible (the one that started at MIDNIGHT! Sheesh!) and stayed awake till 1:30 or 2! What the heck was I thinking?!?!  I KNOW I need to get in bed earlier…& I ‘d say that’s been my biggest downfall this pregnancy. Staying up too late.

My sleep has been decent. Not awesome, not terrible. I LOVE my electric blanket (& that Big Jon turns it on for me before I get in the bed to warm up), pregnancy pillow, & lavender scented aromatherapy stuffed elephant (thank you, Alicia!). And my Sunday afternoon naps are my FAVVVVVE!!! That’s hands down the best sleep I get.

Cravings: Waffles and pancakes!!! Ha! So far the BEST thing I have eaten this entire pregnancy has been pancakes at Cracker Barrel. I have only had them once, but have been craving them ever since!! And I just cannot say no to sweets right now.  Jon’s sister (Aunt Jade) made this ADORABLE cake for our last shower, & I ate on it for a few days after.  It was even yummier than it looked!!!! I finally just threw the rest away so I wouldn’t be tempted anymore.

Catherine and I were just talking about how much the MNS vitamins help with control of your sweet tooth. I know it made a HUGE difference for me & I can definitely tell a difference now that I’m not taking MNS while pregnant.

Oh, and I’ve been craving a turkey sandwich! How random? I don’t really eat lunch meat anyway, so I’m not sure where this random craving came from.

I’ve also just realized that I haven’t eaten many salads (lots of veggies, just not salads) this pregnancy….and normally I am a BIG TIME salad eater. Oh, and I can ONLY drink my water when it has lots of lemon juice in it.

Best Pregnancy Moments This Week: Definitely our friends/family shower!!!! My mom, sisters, & Aunt Terry did an incredible job!

(Seriously, my mom needs to go into event planning…..she is SOOOOOO TALENTED!!!!!)

LOVED the surprise visit from Chelsi!! SO sweet of her to come by the shower!! I wish we got a picture…uhhh!

Also getting a surprise package in the mail from the SWEETEST Miss Nikki!! She TOTALLY made my week!!!

I also LOVE going back through and reading all of the cards and sweet books too once we get home. I don’t read them at showers because I know I’d be a basket case.

I am truly BLOWN AWAY at everyone’s kindness and love and support as we get ready to welcome our little man. It is so beyond anything I expected and I know we (and Baby Jase) are TRULY BLESSED to have such awesome people in our lives.

Goals for next week: Finish thank you cards. Finish birth plan. Work on nursery. Practice Bradley exercises/techniques with Big Jon. Put carseat in the car. Start packing hospital bags.

Thoughts: I cannot WAIT for his nursery to be done!! I am so ready to go spend quiet time in there, praying for our little man before he arrives & reading to him in our awesome new chair!

I know I keep saying it, but we are for real getting close and this is starting to get very real. We are SO EXCITED!!!! I feel so much more at ease about the labor & delivery and definitely am more excited than anxious now. In the end, we will have a sweet, beautiful little blessing in our arms. Jon & I both get super excited thinking and talking about that moment!!

(Haha…I seriously have about 8,000 pictures just like this where he is pulling my hair with his arm!)

LDR nurse here again. Great to hear how wonderful everything is going. Your belly looks just perfect. What does concern me though is the comment you made "I can feel that he is pressing out big time in the dead center of my belly" I realize the shape of your belly is probably positional, but what you just described (to someone who is trained) sounds a lot like a contraction. Try to be aware when this sensation happens and let your Dr know. Does is feel like a balling up in the center of your belly? Before I was an LDR/NICU nurse and I was pregnant with my first, I thought it was my son pushing his bum out. I thought it was funny. What I didn't know is that I was going into preterm labor at 28 weeks. Maybe it would be a good idea for you to have a non stress test. Also, if you think you could be contracting, THE most important thing is to drink drink drink and drink some more water and lie down on your left side for an hour. If the sensation doesn't go away after an hour, you need to go in.
Praying for your continued success!

I am SO stinkin excited for you! It's so close!! You are looking so beautiful. Just think of how fast it flew. Your mom did a beautiful job--wow. Simply beautiful. I remember sitting on the couch so many nights and I could see Brooke's bum poking out at my belly. :) It's such an awesome feeling. Enjoy that bump mama!

Ha just had to comment when you said you've been craving Cracker barrel pancakes. I'm 14 weeks and pancakes have been the the meals I've enjoyed the most during my pregnancy! I just had Cracker Barrel pancakes this weekend with the marion black berries and they were amazing!

Love the blog, you look great!
