We met so many people from New York, New Jersey, & Philly….I think all you Northerners have been keeping the DR a secret!! (Or maybe we’re just out of the loop!)
Our resort was in Punta Cana, Domincan Republic, and it was absolutely GORGEOUS! Plus, it was an incredible deal, especially for the beautiful beaches in DR!! Someone commented a while back and told me to beware of speedos & topless sunbathers….and they were SO RIGHT on! Oh goodness! We tried to act cultured….but topless girls on the beach is just not something we’re used to around here. It was one of those awkward situations where you try not to look or make eye contact, but you don’t want to act like it bothers you either…so you don’t really know what to do with yourself! “Just keep walkin’ and act normal…”Hahahaa….Is that just me?!?!
Most of our days had the same routine…..Laura & I would wake up and work out, then we’d all head to breakfast, head out to the pool, do some water aerobics, read, swim, and play, eat lunch, spend the afternoon at the beach, then head in to shower and go to dinner. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Seriously, that is the most perfect day in my book!!
No, I don’t know what’s up with the Glamour Shots, arms crossed pose. I’m lame, that’s the only explanation I have.
It takes my camera a while to adjust to the humidity and the pictures are foggy for the first 20 minutes, so I just kept it in the safe and brought my phone everywhere.
If I look like I don’t feel well in these pictures, it’s because I didn’t. Ryan caught a little stomach bug when we went to Mexico….and this time, I was the one who caught it. My tummy did not feel well (and I was sick) for a couple days….boo! You know I was sick because I could barely eat my dinner!
We ended up having to buy a bottle of $8 Pepto in the gift shop. (NOT COOL!)Lesson learned- bring my own from now on! I am WAY TOO CHEAP to do things like that and I ALMOST tried to just tough it out without it! (Not sure what happened- I probably swallowed water in the shower or something silly…) It lasted for about a day and a half, but thankfully would come and go.
Everyone’s having a good time….I’m trying not to puke!
I’m glad Big Jon enjoyed his dinner!
We did manage to make friends with the waiters everywhere we went…and practiced our espanol with them! I know they though we were funny with out little country spanglish….but I could carry on a semi-decent convo by the end of the week!
Check out Big Jon’s incredible photography skills!
Ready for day 4!

Looks like you guys had a great time! I usually dont go to DR because of the exact fact that all of the east coast usually goes there and I am trying to get away from the like! I'm sorry you got sick but honestly I would have never guessed!
Morning! I love seeing the pictures of DR! I have always wanted to go to Punta Cana. Ive heard it is just beautiful. Your pictures show that! I am a new follower to your blog. Feel free to follow me back at http://southernnewlywed22.blogspot.com/ Keep doing your awesome work on your blog.
Oh you poor thing!! That happened to me when I went to Mexico...I was so careful to not drink water or anything with water, but one night I had soup. It was all down hill from there! :( Your healthy belly probably didn't do well traveling and eating foods you normally don't. Sorry you felt ill! You still look purdy!
Love the photos...we were recently deciding between DR and Mexico and went with Mexico because the flights were easier, but this confirms that I NEED TO GO.
I also hate to get ripped off in the gift shop and always pack a bag with sunscreen and meds...
