Love Story Link-Up

I think I’ve covered most of this info in my nav bar, but I’m sure some people never read those so I thought I’d link up! Besides, who doesn’t LOVE to think about their LOVE STORY around Valentine’s Day? (I‘m actually not a super romantic lovey-dovey kinda gal and I’m honestly not that big into V-Day, but I am crazy about my hubby!)

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

We went on our first date in September of 2006….So this September will be 6 years!!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

In a nut shell, I coached his littler sister’s softball team when I was in college and she introduced us. You can read the ooey gooey details here.

3. If married, how long have you been married?

A year and a half of pure bliss!!  (Well, most days anyway.)

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?

I have another tab for this here….We got married at our church in Gainesville, GA on October 2, 2010. We had close to 400 people at the wedding ceremony. It was my favorite day!!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another?

I call him Big Jon. He calls me sweet pea. And sometimes just “p.” (As in sweet pea, not pee….)

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

1. He loves the Lord. I am so thankful to be married to a Godly man!

2. He is HILARIOUS!!!!! Seriously, funniest person I know. Every person who is around him is always laughing…(and if not it’s cuz their sense of humor sucks. Just sayin’!)

3. He is my best friend. He listens to me, cares about my interests, encourages me, and is super helpful. I know not every woman can say that about her husband and I do feel very blessed to have that friendship as a foundation.

7. Tell us how he proposed?

We spent an afternoon together shopping, having lunch and dessert, and walking around Atlantic Station. We walked to the park in Atlantic station, and as we were crossing the bridge he got down on a knee in the middle of Atlanta and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YESSSSS and the rest is history!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

Jonathan tends to be more romantic, but I think I’ve encouraged him to be more practical because that is what I prefer and appreciate. I still try to do sweet stuff for him because I know he enjoys it. Oh, and he cannot keep a secret to save his life! He ALWAYS spills the beans before a surprise!!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

As much as I love the beach, I’ve gotta go with movie on the couch. I’m just not into “romantic.”  I can’t help it; I’ve always thought it was cheesy.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

I want him to see Hawaii. I’ve been, but it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever been.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

I can’t…sorry! It’s a total secret/surprise!!  I will say we are having dinner and spending the night at Chateau Elan one night though.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?

I REALLY want my gorgeous rings saudered together.  They always turn and I’m scared to death I’m going to lose one of my wedding bands. Besides, I ALWAYS wear them as a set.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

Keep God first. I think that helps everything else fall into place. If you do that, you WANT to put your spouse first, love him unconditionally, treat him with respect, submit to him, laugh with him, etc.

God's triangle...

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Love hearing such a sweet story that has God as the center of it! I'm assuming that your not mormon but did you know that the picture you have for your marriage advice is a mormon one? That's why there is emphasis on the right place (the temple) and the right authority. It's funny because I've seen other Christian friends pin the same on Pinterest.
