Why We LOVE Coffee & some SUPERFOODS!

We seriously love our coffee in the Butler household!! Big Jon is the official coffee maker at our house, and we just can’t get enough. I finally talked him into joining the “I drink my coffe black” movement (sugar+creamer are delicious, but not so great for you- bummer) when I told him that “Real cowboys drink their coffee black.” He isn’t a cowboy, nor does he desire to be, but for whatever reason that convinced him.

Coffee sometimes gets a bad rap, but according to Web M.D. and Women’s Day magazine, here are a few surprising health benefits of coffee:

1. It may help ward off depression.

2. It may help promote a healthy weight.

3. It may boost fertility in men.

4. It may reduce the risk of skin cancer.

5. It's not truly addictive.

6. Coffee drinkers may be less likely to have type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and dementia.

7. Drinking coffee may lead to fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes.

My dentist told me that if you add a couple tablespoons of skim milk to your coffee it great reduces staining on your teeth. I think a couple calories are worth it to prevent yellowing teeth! (I also have a coffee addiction - I drink almost a pot a day!)

Actually, I drink my coffee through a straw ( like in the picture) so it onyl stains the back of my teeth. And I'm an avid green tea drinker, which surprisingly stains worse than coffee. I drink that through a straw also tough so it doesn't stain the front of my teeth. My poor (but very sweet!) dental hygeinist has a lot of work to do when I come in! :)

Yes, i LOVE coffee :-) But i love mine in the not so healthy, filled with cream and sugar so that its like liquid candy, form :-)
and according to dr oz, american brew is better than french blend for your body.
and i meant to send you an email earlier to let you know that a patient of mine who eats clean said she completely got rid of coffee (as a caffeine fix) and replaced it with "YERBAMATE" tea. just thought i'd pass along the tip if you didnt already know of it...

Hi, I'm Jenn. I'm a coffee addict. :) I am down to just a tad of creamer, in my..ahem, first cup! Black after that! Love salads.

Coffee...a complete staple in our household. My husband didn't even drink coffee until he met me and now he is an a-grade coffee snob. My favorite superfoods are spinach and broccoli, eggs, and blueberries. Helps that they are delicious and healthy

I am 28 years old and started drinking coffee just this summer! I don't drink it everyday either, but i love it! My Grandma is 77 years old and has 2 cups every morning along with her Orange Juice and she is still a force to be reckoned with. I believe every little health snippit you provided, even if their not proven. If i can be like her when i'm 77, i'm in on the coffee train :)
