A Snippet of our “I Do’s”

Look what I just came across….a Video Snippet from our wedding ceremony!!!  Ahh, my favorite day of my life!!!!  I think you can tell we really took our vows very seriously and listened intently to what our preacher told us during the ceremony.  In fact, I still have a typed copy of our vows and I keep them in my Bible and reread them often.

Here is a link to the videographer’s blog post about our wedding…Such kind words.

I think many young couples get caught up in the little details of a wedding ceremony and forget about the most important aspect; that a marriage is a covenant with God. Yes, you are promising things to your spouse, but we break promises all the time.  Ultimately, a marriage is a covenant (not a promise, not a contract, not a conditional basis…covenants cannot be broken!) with GOD…and that’s why divorce is not an option.  We

If only people would take their vows to GOD a little more seriously, our divorce rate would not be what it is today.

“It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it.” –Ecclesiastes 5:5

Awww so sweet! We never had a formal wedding. When Nick was in the Marines we went down to the San Diego County Clerk office and just went for it. I don't feel like I've missed out, but when I see other brides in their dresses makes me wanna renew our vows for sure! haha

I clicked on the link to watch, and my photoshop would open but say it couldn't open the file? weird right? I have a mac not sure if that makes a difference?

Your little bit about the Covenant with God could not be more dead on how I feel and was brought up! I take marriage very seriously, a lot of ppl have given me a little raised eyebrow when I say I'm 29 and not married...Marriage is something that is FOREVER and so many of my friends that married so young are well..the big D word...vorced..... Makes me sad.

I love reading what you post! :)

I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. It gets me every time....though I'd rather listen to it than watch it (I kept trying to get the lip gloss off my teeth! haha). :)

CMae, GOOD FOR YOU, girl! I agree...I definitely waited on God's timing. Jonathan & I were together for four years and even broke up once or twice. I waited till I was 100% certain that's who God had for me.

And yes, it's on Windows Media Player so that's probably why..bummer.

And Karli, GO FOR IT girl! You'd make a beautiful bride!! (Of course you're already a bride, but you know what I mean!)
