One WILD weekend!!

Our typical Friday night consists of us eating at Moe’s or me cooking in spaghetti…..catching up on blogs as if I don’t get enough during the week…..and hittin’ the sack by about 9 pm.  I am so wiped out on Friday nights (I know my teacher friends can relate!) and I wake up early for Saturday morning long runs, so I have a pretty early bedtime.

This Friday, however, we  decided to have a date night with some friends we haven’t got to spend time with in a while.

Weekend 002Weekend 003 - Copy

Sweet face, Danielle!  At least Jon is mastering the art of the “hotdog” style photo. I didn’t know if he could handle my request for him to take more vertical shots, but he def remembers “hotdog.” Try it with your hubby, it works!

Weekend 004 - CopyWeekend 006 - CopyWeekend 007

We went out to a new restaurant in town (so wild, I know) called Cheddar’s for dinner. Crissy & Jay also met us there….

Weekend 008Weekend 009

Since three of us are middle school teachers, we decided boys on one side and girls on the other….you know, in true middle school fashion.

We laughed and laughed and laughed. You’d think it was our first time out of the house in months!!!  (Oh wait, it was….)

I didn’t get in bed till like 10:30. Wild Friday night, huh?? (I’m not being facetious….I felt like a rebel!)

Continuing with the craziness, I woke up and headed to meet the girls for a sweet 13 miler this am.

Anyone wanna guess what I wore??

wk 024

Cha- ching! You got it!!

I bet you didn’t expect the cool face thing whatever the heck that is called. Lori went to India on a mission trip earlier this year and the women had to wear these. She was kind enough to let me have this one and it even kinda matches my tights. I did trade out my ski socks for non-matching softball socks.  Yea, I’m getting worse.  Or wild….however you wanna look at it.

I had a great run this morning.  The last 3 miles were a little tough for a few reasons. This was my longest run since the marathon in November (the most I’ve ran since then was 8 miles last Sunday, so 13 was a big jump today); I ran out of food and water; and my joints were a little tender.  My knees and feet were a little achy, but I had a nice recovery with a big glass of chocolate milk & Epsom salt bath. Typically I take a pretty serious nap afterwards too, but today I skipped the nap to go hang out with the fam. Jon had a buddy over to watch the GA game, so I decided to head to Mom & Dad’s.

Weekend 039

Really, there’s nothing like going to your parents.

We headed over to downtown Winder to watch my sweet little niece and nephew in the Christmas parade. All my siblings were there…along with my sis-in-law, several cousins, nieces and nephews, my Aunt, & my mom & dad.

And we can’t get a normal picture.

Weekend 029

At least I look cool though.

Weekend 030

Okay, there we go…

Weekend 031

Whew! I am WIPED out from this WILD weekend!!!!  About to eat pizza (I like thin crust with spinach, mushrooms and green peppers in case you were wondering about my pizza preference!) with the boys (Big Jon’s old roommate is here….it feels just like old times!), put on my pjs to watch the rest of the game, and then I’m going to call it a night.  Too much fun in one weekend for this gal!!

What time do you go to bed on Friday nights?

(I’m such a lame-o with my 9:00 bedtime on a weekend night. 26 is hittin’ me hard, I guess. I stayed up till like 11 when I was 25!)

How you like your pizza??

What was your weekend workout?

I usually stay up way too late every night. A few days ago I decided I'm going to run a 1/2 marathon in 2012. This means a lot of changes will be made {bed time, eating habits, actually running...} haha I haven't ran more than 4 miles at a time, so this will be a huge jump for me! Your blog is so encouraging though and I think I can do it! Any advice for training/starting out?

Just found your blog - Love it!
I am a teacher, so my Friday nights end with me falling asleep on the couch around 9 while my husband begs me to stay up and finish watching the movie...

Is is summer vacation yet??

Sounds like a really fun time. I go to bed around 10 every night, no matter what. Even if it's a date night, we're home by then...I'm super boring at night. If you want to party at 5 a.m....I'm your girl! :) My workout this weekend was my 'long run' or I guess a not so long run, but it was five miles and I did pretty good considering it was 50 degrees (cold for this Phx girl) and it was windy and rainy. Lately my times have gotten worse so it was a swing back in the right direction at avg. 9:51 ml. Jessica

I love pineapple and mushrooms on my pizza or veggie pizza with pineapple. Sorry, forgot the last question and since it had to do with food...I couldn't resist. :)

I'm a high school teacher and totally agree ... On Friday nights I'm often in bed earlier than during the week because I'm so exhausted. Glad I'm not the only one. :)

What a fun and while weekend you had! :) So impressed with your run!

Sounds like a fun weekend!

I can totally relate to being worn out on Friday nights! We hardly ever do anything exciting on Fridays either :)

Whew! Glad I'm not the only gal that goes to bed super early (I knew you teachers would be with me!). I'm not a morning person either though, although I;m definitely moving that direction with these early morning runs!

Hope y'all had a fabulous weekend as well!!
