Healthiest States, Fitness vs. Weight, & Sugar Addiction….

According to this article, Georgia is #36 on the list for the healthiest states. Not so hot, GA.  Vermont is # 1, but I’m a little more intrigued by # 4…..HAWAII!!! Uh, yes please!!  Man, if only the cost of living wasn’t so high I would move there in a heartbeat.  We could totally be some permanent beach bums.

Check it out to see where your state ranks.

I read another called Diet vs. Exercise: Which Lowers Death Rate More?  The result? Fitness! We should be more concerned about keeping our fitness levels up as we age, although both are important.  It’s interesting because I’ve read that 80% of how we look is determined by our genetics, 10% by our genes, and 10% by working out. Guess that just proves we shouldn’t be so vain, and should be more concerned about our insides than how we look.

I think my fitness level is definitely better off than my diet. I just can’t seem to quit the sweets, but then again, that’s probably because sugar has been found to be more addictive than cocaine.  Yikes!  I need to detox & kick the habit.  Maybe the fact that “the average person loses 90% of their immune function within 15 minutes of consuming refined sugar” will motivate me.

Fall Break 121

If you could pick any state to live in, where would you pick & why??

Which is in better shape (oh, the puns!), you fitness level or diet??

Are you addicted to sugar too??

ughh Texas is 44!! If I could pick any state just for what it is, I would pick California because it is so pretty and the weather. But I do like Texas! My exercise is in better shape too! I like my Mexican food!! I am not a sugar person, give me tortilla chips any day over cookies!

Oh I would love to move to Hawaii too! I've always thought it was so beautiful and I loved all the scenery from watching Lost.
I actually have never been though....so I suppose I would have to visit first :)

I could have written the Bases comment! I'm a Texas girl and I love my Mexican food. I try to make wise choices most of the time but queso is one of my favorite food groups. :)

Very interesting info - thanks for sharing. I'm going to bookmark this and revisit after the new year. I'm in a maintaining mode right now but can't wait to jump into a new workout plan in 2012.

I love both Colorado and Minnesota - I love having 4 seasons and being near mountains or lakes.

My fitness level is probably more consistent than my eating habits - my biggest downfall is carbs. I love me some cereal!

I'm a new Georgia girl and hate to see that it's ranked 46th! Bummer. I was born and raised in North Carolina and it is still where I always want to be...but for fun, I'd move to Colorado! Crazy, right? Something about all that cold snow is enticing to me :) I'd get sick of it I am certain. Happy I ran across your blog!
