Sunday Funday: Weekly workouts, Whole Foods, & weird hubby pics!

I LOVE Sundays!!

After church the hubby & I headed to Whole Foods. I only go once a month because it's pretty far from our house....(took us about 40 minutes to get there!)  We had a yummy lunch - if you've never tried it, you should...they have TONS of options- and enjoyed shopping together. Well, I enjoyed shopping. I love going to the grocery store....weird, I know.
Big Jon's $14 plate! Thank goodness for my coupon...I love Living Social!!
cornbread...tasted like cake!!
 Serious business fish....
So happy! I LOVE Whole Foods!! Just wish it was closer....grrr!!

Training Update:
Monday: 4 miles (38 minutes)
Tuesday: 6 miles
Wednesday: 8 miles, wanted to quit at every mile because I ate a pathetic excuse for a breakfast (half a cliff bar just ain't gonna cut it for this chick!)
Thursday: 2 miles on elliptical, 30 minutes of weight training (push ups, kettle bell swings, lunges, a few arm exercises), 15 minute walk with the hubby
Friday: massage (which is therapeutic and important in healing and preventing injury....not a luxury, as the massage therapist informed me.  I'll go with that.)
Saturday: 16 miles, 2:40 min- dreary weather, had to start @ 6 am after 4 1/2 hours of sleep- not my most pleasant run.  One of my running partners was logging 8:15 miles between miles 10 & 12....I stayed close behind her with 8:30 for those two, but it made miles 14-16 pretty brutal. Also, I had to make a RUN for the restroom @ mile 15- Praise the Lord is was open! Too many Cliff shot blocks??  It's so crazy to me how much diet and sleep affect your runs. Last week I ran 15 and felt AWESOME....could have kept going....but it took everything in me to make it through these 16.  Ahhh the joys of training!
Sunday: 2 miles on elliptical, 15 minutes weights, 15 minutes abs, & mega stretching (seriously, I need some yoga in my life, but can't afford to take classes, and there aren't any close to me anyway. anyone wanna send me a yoga DVD??? :) pretty please? No, okay....well do you have any recommendations?)

Weight Loss Update:
After discovering it is NORMAL to gain 3-5 lbs during marathon training (your body stores carbs and water), I am no longer counting calories or trying to "lose weight." But in case you're wondering, I weighed between 142 and 145 every time I weighed this week.  Now...after the race is a different story. :)

P.S. Who is THIS guy? SO glad he got a haircut & trimmed the beard. I love the scruffy look, especially on my hot hubby, but this was a little much.
Hands off, ladies....he's mine!
Business in the front....(sorta!)
PaRtAy in the back!!!!
(Haha, I love the random hair sticking up in the back....what is that?)
{He did just work out, so ignore the sweaty/greasy look.}
Everything about this is....well, gross?
 Yes, I put clips in there...
I know, I know....married life looks goooood on him!!

It's cool...I vowed to marry him
{for better}
{or worse}
???? Too much fun the fat face app....

P.S.S. I took some pics with his i-phone on our walk....there was a gorgeous sunset at the golf course.  Jon made me retake his pic twice because he didn't like something...and he said "I just want it to look good cuz I know it's gonna end up on the blog!"  Hahha!! He's worse than me! :)
 I don't know why my arm looks broken....so awkward...
 Checkin' out the sunset...the picture doesn't do it justice.
 This is the one he didn't like....haha!!
 Have a wonderful week!!!!

 "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good." ~Titus 2:11-14

I, too, love Whole Foods, but we lovingly refer to it as Whole Paycheck because you can spend way too much if you aren't careful!

I also gain weight when I am training for races...was going to tell you that ...then forgot. I always thought it was muscle because my legs and butt get bigger, but carbs and water make sense too. Sounds like you are doing great! Also after a really long run the next long run for me was always much harder as well. I was told that this means you might need to spread out the long runs more than just a week apart.
