What do I eat? A typical day!

I've had a few people ask me recently what I eat & the foods my diet consists of, so here it is...
A typical day in my diet:

Breakfast: (around 7 am)
* 3 egg whites (I used to scrambled them, but now I'm really into boiling them. I love how much time it saves in the morning!)
*a bowl of oatmeal or steel cut oats with a scoop of ground organic flaxeed
*1-2 cups of black coffee (through a straw so I don't stain my teeth!)
*some type of fruit (orange, blueberries, banana)

Snack: (around 10 am)
*1 cup hot green tea
* apple or handful raw almonds

Lunch: (around 12:30)
*salad (Organic spinach & other veggies w dressing on the side) or bag of steamed brocolli
*piece of fruit
*natural peanut butter & honey on wheat bread (about to start Ezekial) or low sodium soup
*raw almonds

Snack: (around 5 pm)
*protein bar or 1 scoop whey protein mixed with water (after a workout)

Dinner: (around 8 pm, though I would prefer it to be earlier)
*This varies. I order the cleanest thing on the menu if we're eating out. Jon & I grill a lot of chicken at home & make a salad or veggies as side. We also eat a lot of pasta....whole grain, of course, & I make marinara sauce for myself & alfredo sauce for Jon (but I add in chicken and broccoli to make it a little healthier).

Snack: (around 10 pm)
*1 organic Greek fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt (with teaspoon of ground flaxeed)

I started eating clean about 2 years ago.  Of course I don't always eat like this (I can't pass up good desserts, frozen yogurt, or pizza! moderation is key!), but this is what I typically strive to eat. I always drink tons of water to keep everything going smooth and flush out toxins. The only other drinks I drink besides water are green tea, black coffee, and an occasional Powerade Zero.  On an occasion that I eat something that is not very heathy, it makes me feel TERRIBLE!  I totally recommend the Eat Clean Diet book if you really want to see your body change....it  taught me how to eat and changed the way I look at food, nutrition, and diet.  I just reread it at the beach & am motivated again to get back on it again!!  (At the beach I eat peel & eat shrimp every night with a house salad- no cheese or croutons- & dressing on the side! Keepin' it clean!)

I LOVE Ezekial bread! The Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins are to die for! So yummy! We usually can't find coupons anywhere, so Ryan emailed the company and they sent us several! Perfect bc that stuff is expensive!

When I think of Danielle one of the FIRST things I ALWAYS think of is "dressing on the side!" hahaha

I had to LOL... Americans and their diets! Such a fuss over nothing. You know it seems like you go through an awful lot of trouble, exercising for your body rather than the sport, throwing out eggyolks??? ROFL!!!

Here's my Euro tip for you: eat the entire egg, skip the obligatory nuts and grains most days of the week (unless you're super hungry), don't bother with special bars and shakes, and chop some raw veggies for lunch. No dressing 'on the side' lol, just skip the goo altogether. Keep the treats restricted to holidays and birthdays and hey presto - you'll lose weight like mad. And rather than overburden your knees with running on that nasty hard pavement like I saw in the pics, just do something fun - team sports, swimming, play at it.

It REALLY doesn't have to be any effort at all.

Cute blog though haha!

(I hope you're one of those moderating comments peepz by the way - delete my comment if you're offended please!)
