Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is teacher appreciation week.
I have been teaching for three years, but I am not just a teacher in the classroom.  I have taught children's church, Sunday school, Jazzercise, body sculpting, and pitching lessons.  I love to teach; it is not doubt my passion.
The cards and letters I receive from my students really are precious and mean the world to me. I truly cherish them, and they inspire me to keep going....to keep doing what I'm doing, even during difficult times.  This isn't exactly the most favorable time for education (budget cuts & furloughs every time we turn around!), so this type of encouragement is especially appreciated amongst educators right now.
If you have a teacher who has made a difference in your life, I challenge you to write them this week. Maybe a card, letter, poem, or even an e-mail. I promise, it means so much to them. If they did enough to impact your life in a way that their name/face popped in your mind when reading this, I'd say they deserve a "thank you!"
One Hundred Years from Now
(excerpt from "Within My Power" by Forest Witcraft)
One Hundred Years from now
It will not matter
what kind of car I drove,
What kind of house I lived in,
how much money was in my bank account
nor what my clothes looked like.
But the world may be a better place because
I was important in the life of a child.

Hebrew Proverb
"A child is not a vessel to be filled, but a lamp to be lit".

Yay for teachers! I just graduated with my physical education degree (I think I have told you that), but congrats, and thank you for all the many teaching roles you have done. I know I dont know you personally, but I can tell you are a beyond amazing teacher! I hope that sometime soon I can get my own first year teaching job, and celebrate the job of helping mold childrens minds, bodies, and hearts! :) Happy Teacher Week! :)
