Decorating the living room....wanna help??

I guess I shouldn't be counting my chickens before they hatch (is that how the saying goes? haha!!) but we both feel certain everything will go through.  We've been approved by the bank and lenders, so we're almost ready for closing.  We haven't heard the best statistics about short sales actually making it to closing, but I feel confident this is THE house God wants us in.  So, we'll get it! :)

Here is a pic of the living room....(from the real estate website- with her decorations). Isn't the ceiling AWESOME??
So, we are debating on some couch options.  Our choices are either:

OPTION #1:
(I REALLY love this white couch and the whole white couch look, but I'm not sure about it 100% because the trip is a deep cream....almost beige/khake, which I also love.)

(without those pillows, of course....there are pillows that match this chair & ottoman)

OR,
OPTION #2:
(Jon likes brown leather, but we can't afford the real stuff and I'm afraid it'll look cheezy.)
So, wutcha think?? We were able to go in the house again yesterday while the inspector was there, and it really is GORGEOUS!! It made me so excited!! :) We are ready to move in today! But, gotta get some furniture....

By the way, I'm not really looking for any negative feedback or criticism.  Just sayin'! So, if you have something postive or really like one or the other, I'd LOVE to know!! Otherwise, I'd LOVE for you to keep it to yourself. (Remember my post from last week? I'm overly sensitive.  AND, I like both of these options.)  Thanks!!

I love the chic look of the white couch. I've always wanted a light set just afraid I can't keep it clean. We have leather now and it's nice but it screams bachelor to me. I want to get microfiber next go around.

Bottom line- White! It looks very welcoming!

I agree with Brittany! I think leather looks manly and I ADORE the chair!!!! I would do microfiber or a washable material in the couch (not sure what material that one is?!?) We've washed our cushion covers several times! I think the lighter color will look GREAT though esp with the build-ins and the dark floors!!! The leather too me would be too dark don't you think? Making decisions is SO much easier when you have your blog friends help you decide haha

I personally like the leather. It will hold up better with kids and everyday wear and tear. We just got new leather furniture and used different accent chairs to tone it down. We have a red and beige sofa in our bedroom and it shows everything. We rarely sit on it, but every piece of cat hair can be seen. I also think that with the ceiling you need something more sophisticated (SP, sorry no spell check and I can't spell to save my life :) ) Why don't you do the leather sofa with the blue chair and get matching blue pillows for the sofa? You could also get a pretty rug to soften it up a bit. Where is the house? It is beautiful!

Ahhh I love the ceiling, absolutely beautiful!! I would vote for the white conch. I've had a leather one before and even though they're pretty at first they really show signs of wear and tear sooner, or at least in my experience. The leather doesnt generally stain though so that's a plus. I always felt like it made my living room 'cold', does that make sense??

I like both options! Hard decision! I personally wouldn't opt for the white b/c I know you guys are planning on having little ones. White and kids just don't mix! I think the leather (pleather) is gorgeous. Maybe you can do a creamy colored leather and compromise? :) It would be much easier to clean too! We have microfiber. I like that too but I don't like that the pillows are detached. Such a pain!!! Next time we'll probably opt for leather w/attached pillows. Whatever you decide will look awesome! The house rocks! And you have great style!

Lovin' the white couches and that chair is beautiful! I think leather would be better with kids but you still have awhile and furniture is expensive so I always buy what I want maybe not what I need.( that might be a bad thing) maybe you could find a whitish couch that has a slip cover that you can wash. That ceiling is really pretty,I am soooo excited for y'all!!

First off...I LOVE the ceilings! They're great!

I personally like the white couch and that chair and ottoman with that fabric! I think it will make the room feel open and airy :)

Can't wait to see what y'all pick!

I think the leather looks nice and gives more of a 'hardy' 'homey' feeling, but i agree that it does show wear and tear easily and can look manly if not done with the right accents. I love the chair with the white couches and think the whote in the could would accent the ceiling and all the other builtin extras of the room. As far as keeping it clean... I have pets (no kids) and i know its hard to keep furniture clean, but you can always get a cover for it and just remove the cover when you have company (or no kids around). Sorry to repeat if someone already said that, i only skimmed through other comments. Obviously you guys have good taste (love the house!) so i would worry :-)

Hey there girly, it' s Lindy (your hygienist) The fabric on the chair and ottoman is the fabric I had our bedding and window treatments made out of. I Love It!! Would look wonderful with some white or cream colored couches, you could totally use leather also. Or mix the two, a leather chair and white couch or vise versa :) So glad I remembered your blog, I am going to start one soon! Praying for a smooth transaction with your closing, congrats!! Start filling that house with babies ;) XOXO-Lindy

Thank you for all the comments!! I'm leaning towards the white....and possible having a leather chair or recliner.

Lindy- YAYYY!!! You found me!! Please start one, you'll love it! Thanks for the prayers... :) Hope you enjoyed your anniversary trip to the mountains (geez, I haven't seen y'all in awhile, huh?).
