ONE Marriage Conference: Day 2 (Afternoon Session)

Afternoon Session:
After eating a yummy lunch @ Panera and a hot green tea from Starbuck's, we headed back to hear Lisa's husband, John, share.  John was much more serious, but had a great message. Check it out.
-We've been created to have extraordinary marriages.
-extraordinary: beyond what is usual or common
-Gen 1:27 God created us to be Christlike and reflect His nature.
-Romans 5:18 We are called to live extraordinary lives.
-2 Corinthians 12:9 Grace=empowerment! God's grace is made perfect in our weakness.
-Greek word for grace is CHARIS- means gift, favor, benefit, gracious, liberality- God's empowering presence in one's life.
-Mark 6:47 You may be in God's will but still struggling.
-Jesus is in our home, surrounding us daily. He intends to pass us by (He won't push Himself on anyone) but we have an opportunity daily to reach out to Jesus and call out for GRACE.
-People only see salvation as a cover for our sinds and a ticket into Heaven. Salvation is SO much more than that....it's life in abundance (John 10:10), immeasurable more than all we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and GRACE (Jon 1:16)!

After John's message we had the Lord's supper and completed a SALT covenant.  It was very similar to the sand ceremony at our wedding, which is still very fresh for us.

Overall, we had a great time at the conference and took away some EXCELLENT Godly principles for marriage.  These types of events are extremely encouraging in the Lord and rejuvenated our relationship.  (Not that we needed it, but we feel closer and stronger than ever!)  We certainly enjoyed the laughs with our sweet friends...."Part-It".....lol!!!! Check out the crew!
I hope you took something out of this the way Jon & I did. May God richly bless your marriage!!

Salvation is life in abundance...I just love that. There is no doubt that Christ is the reason Michael and I have made it 18 years. It took us a long time to get there but we made it and it was all His plan. You took some good notes, thanks for sharing.
