Power of a Praying Husband

On Monday morning I was heading to school around 7:50 (I have to be at school at 8 for morning duty, but our 1st period doesn't officially start until 8:50....doesn't that stink? That means we can't leave till 4:15! My high school let out at 2:10 and it was AWESOME!) and driving up the curvy, wooded road that takes me to school.  I was driving about 40-45 mph when I saw two deer run across the road in front of my car, about 20 yards ahead.  I think 20 yards...I don't really know, I am TERRIBLE at estimating distance or measurements, but they were close. Anyway, their third little deer friend (a fairly large doe) was following close behind them and heading STRAIGHT for my car. I have personally never had any experiences with deer (praise the Lord!), but I have always heard they will run straight into your car. In fact, that did happen to Jon about a year ago when he lived in Dahlonega. Scary.
I knew there was nothing I could do. I couldn't slam on my breaks because there were cars behind me and coming toward me. There was nowhere to veer off because it is really curvy and there is an embankment on the right side of the road that goes into a ditch. I tried to slow down, but knew I was ultimately going to have to let it run into me, and it was heading directly at my driver's side door.

AND then that deer turned around and ran back UP the hill.

What? Seriously? I couldn't believe it. My heart was pounding and my hands were shaking.  I immediately thanked God for keeping me safe and turning that deer around, and then called Jonathan to tell him the story and thank him for praying for me. I know he prays for me every morning....especially for me to arrive at work safely, and for God to wrap His hands around my vehicle and protect me. I know that because he told me that's what he prays for specifically. I'm sure part of the reason he prays for me is because I do my makeup on the way to school- yikes! bah habit!! bad, bad!!  But also because he is a sweet, loving, Godly man. I am so thankful for my husband and for the power of his prayers.
(P.S. A cool little side note...Jon said he normally says his prayers when he's getting close to work- he has an hour daily commute. That particular morning he said he felt like he needed to say them earlier.  Isn't God good?? I love when He reminds us of His presence through cool little testimonies like this!)

So glad that GOD turned that dear around and that Jonathan prays for GOD to wrap His hands around your car every morning!! Hitting a dear is bad, been there done that. A deer hit my car when I was pregnant with Tyler and it messed up the car pretty bad. Your right though about the make up, need to stop doing that in the car on the way. I love you guys!!!!

YAY!! Glad you are safe, and we are so thankful for Jon's prayers! Remember the one that ran into my car and army rolled over my convertible top this time last year! They like my car.
