People Pleaser?

Are you a people pleaser? I am.  And I aways make excuses for why that's okay...it's selfless, and nice, and understanding, right? It puts others thoughts, feelings, & needs first, right? The Lord has been revealing to me lately why I can't be a "people pleaser" and a God pleaser. This hasn't been a fun or easy lesson to learn. And I still struggle daily. Check out this verse in Galatians that will help gently remind me of the truth during those struggles...

Galatians 1:10 says...

NIV version (this is what I read):
"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."

KJV (for my sis-in-law):
"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

and the Message (which just tells ya like it is!):
"Do you think I speak this strongly in order to manipulate crowds? Or curry favor with God? Or get popular applause? If my goal was popularity, I wouldn't bother being Christ's slave."

****************************************

So...here's to {only}trying to please an AUDIENCE of ONE.
