Surprise Shower from Wing Staffers

This is my second year as the yearbook sponsor at Davis, and I am forutnate to be able to handpick the students on my staff, which means I get 28 of the top kids in the school.  They are absolutely precious!  Last year's group always referred to my class as their "family," which is a rare attitude for middle schoolers.  This year's group is just as special to me and I love them dearly already.  Just like last year's group, they are really into knowing every detail of my wedding plans and relationship.  Nosey little squirts!

This morning, after being "stalled" at the FCA Leadership meeting, I walked into a surprise bridal shower planned and put on entirely by twenty-eight 13-14 year olds! :) I know I keep using this adjecive, but I can't think of any way to describe them other than just absolutely precious!  When I walked in, they all shouted "Suprise!" and every student hugged me.  They had bought be a beautiful bouquet of roses,
several cards & gifts (even gifts off my registry!),
and had snacks (a fruit tray, chips, cookies, & trail mix), drinks, cups, plates, & utensils.  One of the students baked me my favorite type of cake- funfetti- & decortated it (all pink, of course) to say "Congrats Mrs. Butler!"

They made a huge poster and all signed it.
My whole room was decorated with pink and white streamers and matching balloons.

The cards were so sweet....They said things like "we will all be praying for you as you enter into your marriage" and "I know your wedding will be so beautiful" and "we're blessed to have you as a teacher."  So mature!  I just love my sweet babies and am so thankful to have such loving students!

Dont' worry Rachael. I did the exact same thing! It's very sweet and for them to be that young and so caring. I don't know you Danielle personally but it says alot about your character! You really do seem like such an amazing person, teacher, and friend!

I agree with all the earlier comments...how AWESOME and what a reflection of the amazing teacher and role model you are to them. Don't you wish you could invite them all to the big day?!?! that really is SO sweet that they did all of that for you on their own!!! gave me chills!
